Rob has provided auditing, assurance and business consulting services to commercial, real estate, and nonprofit organizations since 1988. In addition to serving on the Firm’s executive committee as managing partner, Rob is also the chairman of the Firm’s accounting and auditing committee, has served as a member of Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants’ Principles and Auditing Standards Committee, and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Rob earned an undergraduate degree in accounting from the University of North Florida and enjoys spending time with his family and participating in community service activities.

Larry Kaplan joined Smoak, Davis & Nixon LLP (SDN LLP) in 2013 after relocating from South Florida and was admitted as a Partner in 2020. He specializes in wealth transfer/estate planning, transaction and advisory services, investment, tax and financial planning for high-net-worth individuals, business owners and executives. He has significant experience in providing financial counsel on income tax, estate and gift tax, investments, charitable and retirement planning matters. Additionally, Larry provides clients with tax planning and compliance services whether it be individuals, partnerships and LLC’s, S Corporation, and C Corporations.

He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and IRS Enrolled Agent (EA). Larry has also passed the Series 65 Uniformed Registered Investment Advisor Examination and also works with clients in the Firms Registered Investment Advisory Business, River Capital Advisors, L.C.

Lori joined Smoak, Davis & Nixon LLP in 2009 and was named Partner effective January 1, 2024. Lori’s focus areas include auditing and assurance services to a wide range of clients and industries, although her start in public accounting was as a tax associate. Lori holds an undergraduate degree from Christopher Newport University in Newport News, Virginia, and a Master of Accountancy degree from the University of North Florida. Lori is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Lori followed her military family to Jacksonville in 1996 and it quickly became home. Lori enjoys spending time with her young son and her two nieces when out of the office.
