A financial statement review is less extensive than a financial statement audit. A review provides limited assurance on your financial statements and is a cost-effective alternative when an audit is not required. COMPILATIONS
A financial statement compilation provides no assurance on your financial statements. In this type of engagement, financial statements are compiled from information that you provide in accordance with professional standards. Compilations are another type of service that our professional staff can provide for your business.
AGREED UPON PROCEDURES
Not all circumstances require an audit, review, or compilation. In some instances, an agreed upon procedures engagement maybe appropriate for your organization. An agreed upon procedures engagement is one in which an independent accountant is engaged to issue a report of findings based on specific procedures applied to subject matter that were agreed upon by the independent accountant and the specified parties. The report is restricted for use by the specified parties and does not express assurance or a conclusion, making this a cost saving alternative. A few examples of this type of engagement include providing due diligence when buying or selling a business, verifying cash balances, checking security balances, and reviewing loan portfolios.
