We hear these kinds of comments more than you might think.  Our Firm has been serving the Jacksonville market since 1924.  We are proud of our heritage and we have found that is a distinguishing mark for us.

We were founded in 1924 by Paul R. Smoak.  Mr. Smoak practiced as an individual until August 1, 1944, when he brought along Jewell A. Davis as partner and they formed Smoak & Davis.  After World War II, Francis C. Nixon joined the Firm and the practice became known as Smoak, Davis & Nixon.  Our current partners have maintained the names of our Founders, and in 1996, the Firm registered as a limited liability partnership.  Today, we are known as Smoak, Davis & Nixon LLP.

Smoak, Davis & Nixon LLP was founded at a time when public accounting was still emerging as a profession.  Through vision, foresight, and dedication, our Founders launched the practice with a philosophy of integrity and client service excellence.  Today, our partners and staff continue to reaffirm that philosophy by focusing on our top priorities: providing excellent client service, maintaining the highest professional and ethical standards, and expanding our knowledge base through continuing professional education.
